Trial periods
You can let buyers start a recurring subscription with a free trial. There are two variants: trial with card and trial without card.
Trial with card
Section titled “Trial with card”- The buyer enters their card at checkout.
- They’re not charged during the trial.
- At the end of the trial, the first charge runs automatically.
- If they want to avoid the charge, they cancel before the trial ends from their Stripe portal.
Trial without card
Section titled “Trial without card”- The buyer starts the trial without entering payment details.
- At the end of the trial, the subscription is paused (no money is charged).
- The buyer must add a card from the Stripe customer portal to reactivate. If they don’t, they lose access until they do.
This is more friction-free at the start but converts less reliably than trials with card.
Trial length
Section titled “Trial length”You set the number of days in the price configuration. Common values: 3, 7, 14 days.
What happens to access during the trial
Section titled “What happens to access during the trial”- Buyers are added to the Telegram channel as soon as the trial starts.
- They have full access during the trial.
- If they cancel before the trial ends, they keep access until the trial period ends.
Trial expiration notification
Section titled “Trial expiration notification”Three days before the trial ends, the buyer gets an email reminding them. This is on by default and uses Stripe’s standard reminder.
